Herman, Certified Public Accountant is owner of Herman & Associates CPAs, PC, a professional service corporation. He has extensive experience and education with nonprofit organizations, corporations, partnerships and individual financial statement and in preparing tax returns for those entities. Jim has eight years of college and taught college level classes for three years before entering the public accounting profession. He has taught evening classes for Clark College. He also does a large amount of reading to keep current on changes in accounting and income taxes. Jim entered the public accounting field in 1976 when he was employed by Anderson & Deaton C.P.A.s in Idaho. While working for them he did a large number of audits for cities, hospitals, school districts, water districts, and the county. Jim purchased his present firm in 1978. Jim is certified in both Oregon and Washington and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Vergie A. Fuwell, Certified Public Accountant has been with Herman & Associates, CPAs, PC, for the last 9 years. She has both tax and accounting experience with a variety of entity types including corporations, partnerships, non profit organizations and sole proprietorship's. She is also well versed in the use of Quick Books for the small to medium sized business clients. Vergie has a bachelor's degree in Business/Economics with an emphasis in accounting from George Fox University. She also attends continuing education each year on a variety of tax and accounting related topics. Vergie entered public accounting in 1989 when she joined the firm Venne & Company in Portland, Oregon. She was employed there for ten years (the last two years as a partner in the firm) prior to moving back to White Salmon. She is extremely pleased to have a position at Herman & Associates that allows her to live and work in her childhood home. Vergie is certified in both Oregon and Washington and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. Doris Gallagher, Certified Public Accountant has been in the accounting profession for over 20 years. During this time, she has worked in different tax and accounting positions for a variety of companies from family owned businesses to major corporations. Doris has been an integral part of those tax and accounting teams. This experience gives her great understanding of the day to day operations of businesses as well as nailing down the technical aspects of tax law. She has been employed by Herman & Associates for the past 6 years and takes pleasure in creating a team with the individuals and businesses in the Columbia Gorge area. Doris enjoys working closely with clients to help them turn their accounting nightmare into a midsummer night's dream. Real Estate has been her primary niche for many years but she looks forward to the challenges and variety of other industries. She has had extensive experience with a broad range of accounting software programs including most versions of Quick Books. Doris has a Bachelor's degree from Central Washington University with an emphasis in Accounting. She continues her education in the tax and accounting field and is currently working toward becoming a Certified Specialist in Estate Planing. She has been a member of the Washington Society of CPAs since 1995. |
